Cette impulsion d\u00e9cisive a conduit\u00a0\u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9mergence d\u2019avant-gardes th\u00e9\u00e2trales et illusionnistes cherchant \u00e0 renouer\u00a0avec la dimension rituelle des performances. L\u2019artiste anglais subversif Tony Shiels\u00a0est le principal artisan de la r\u00e9invention des performances illusionnistes \u00e0 la fin des\u00a0ann\u00e9es 1960. En les reconnectant \u00e0 l\u2019\u00ab occulture \u00bb, il relance une dynamique de\u00a0cr\u00e9ation artistique en prise avec la culture magique populaire.\u00a0L\u2019art de Shiels poss\u00e8de une dimension \u00ab mythopo\u00ef\u00e9tique \u00bb (cr\u00e9atrice de mythes)\u00a0qui r\u00e9alise le programme surr\u00e9aliste en \u00e9tant capable de donner vie \u00e0 des\u00a0l\u00e9gendes locales par l\u2019invocation de monstres.
